Electric Hydraulic Power Unit for Casing and Tubing Tongs

The unit is an open-frame power system designed to supply hydraulic energy to mechanisms such as a casing/tubing make-up and break-out machine. It operates autonomously except for the power supply (380V electricity).

The unit is powered by an electrical control cabinet equipped with the necessary starting elements and automation. The electric motor is a 37 kW, three-phase, 50 Hz motor with a 380V AC heater. An axial-piston variable displacement pump with an integrated power control system is attached to the motor. As the pressure increases, the pump’s displacement reduces, meaning the flow decreases at higher pressures.

The unit also includes the following components:

• Start Block: Features motor start and stop buttons, service disconnection, engine STOP button, and indicator lamps for power on, operation, and low oil level.
• Pressure Gauge: Measures from 0 to 400 bar.
• System Safety Valve: Protects the system from overpressure.
• Hydraulic Tank: 340-liter capacity with:
  • Internal baffle
  • Oil level sensor
  • Oil temperature sensor
  • Maintenance cover
  • Suction filter with a shut-off ball valve
  • Return filter
  • Drain port with a ball valve
  • Filler neck with a breather cap
• Air-Oil Heat Exchanger: Driven by an electric motor.
• Temperature Relay: Controls the heat exchanger motor.
• Low Oil Level Sensor: Alerts operators to insufficient oil levels in the tank.
• Base Platform: Includes a drip tray, forklift pockets, and a brake bar.
• Lifting Cage: Includes a basket for hose storage.
• Quick-Connect Couplings: For attaching pressure and return hydraulic hoses.
